Bear Hunt

BEAR HUNT is an experimental western horror short film directed by Chris Duffy.

Awoken by the distant shrieks of a child, a lone man is pulled into the wilderness, forced to confront the source of the echo and whatever lies behind it.

Blending handcrafted stop motion puppetry with digital environments, the film exists in a space between physical and virtual. Each puppet was animated by hand against a green screen and composited into 3D worlds built in Blender, creating a tactile yet uncanny visual language.

Created entirely by Chris Duffy and featured at Annecy International Animation Film Festival in 2025, BEAR HUNT is a meditation on instinct, fear, and the danger of following something you don’t understand.
